10 Craft Ideas To Do With Cars Coloring Pages

Below are 10 fun and creative ideas on what you can do with the above coloring pages!

1. Make a Treasure Box for Matchbox or Other Toy Cars

All kids need for this easy craft is an empty cardboard tissue box and one or more finished coloring pages.

Carefully cut the top of the tissue box so that it forms a completed square.

Next, laminate the sides with one or more finished car coloring pages to create a place to keep small toy cars. For extra fun, use another coloring page to make a lid!

2. Design an Easy or Difficult Puzzle

Car coloring pages are great for making puzzles. These can be made as difficult or easy as each child wants, it just depends on the size of the pieces.

Using a jumbo-sized coloring page to make a giant puzzle is another option. Just make sure to glue the coloring page to some poster board to ensure it lasts.

Use two additional coloring pages and staple or tape them together to create a large envelope, and use this as a fun place to store the puzzle pieces.

3. Mark Your Place in the Race

For classroom fun during a contest, use race cars to symbolize each child’s standing in the competition.

Have each youngster finish a car coloring page and choose a number or icon as their own.

Cut out the picture and seal it in a laminating sheet. Use the car to track each child’s progress in the contest by pinning them to a corkboard in first, second, third place, etc.

4. Traffic Light Fun

This easy classroom or at-home craft idea is a lot of fun and is completed with three coloring pages. Using yellow, red, and green construction paper, cut out three circles.

Glue them onto a rectangular shape paper that can be cut out of posterboard or cardboard to serve as the “traffic light.”

Make as many of these as necessary for the number of children participating. Attach a car to each circle for a fun poster that can be used for a discussion about traffic safety!

5. Decorate the Page with a Favorite Character

For this fun craft, have the youngsters decorate their cars in the theme of their favorite characters.

Some simple examples include a red car with spiderwebs to symbolize Spider-Man, or a car in hot pink with eyelashes etched on the headlights to make a Barbie-mobile.

Virtually any character can be depicted by the way the car is colored, and they can be framed as keepsakes.

6. Create a Fancy Trophy

All this craft requires is a car coloring page and a trophy statue from a novelty store.

Once the car is completed, it should be carefully cut out and affixed to the trophy’s base.

These can be made in a classroom as a group project or individually at home and every child is a winner!

7. A Fun Classroom Racetrack

Use an easel pad to draw a racetrack and hang it on the wall or the door. Have each child complete a car coloring page and sign their names.

Place the cars on the track in the “starting” position, and when a child gets an answer correct, his or her car advances a predetermined length.

Use a separate piece of easel paper to create a “winner’s circle,” where the car of the child who got the most answers correct is then placed.

8. Make Unique Cars with Dot Markers

Instead of crayons, use dot markers in red, yellow, and green to complete the coloring pages with “traffic” colors.

Have the youngsters list every traffic phrase they can think of on the bottom of the coloring page, such as “stop,” “yield,” “go,” “walk,” “no left turn,” etc.

See how many terms each child can come up with, and make sure you tell them about any that were left out!

9. Bring the Car to Life

This super fun craft idea to do with car coloring pages requires items such as wobble eyes, felt, glitter and yarn.

The goal is to make the car “come to life” by adding eyes, a hat, smoke from the tailpipe–cotton works great for this–or even drawing a person behind the wheel using yarn for hair!

10. Create a Giant Poster

This terrific craft idea is perfect for a group of children. Each child colors his or her car and then adds it to the poster board.

Next, all the children participate in some freestyle drawing, adding various roads, valleys, and mountains so that each car has an interesting road on which to travel.

The finished result is a unique giant poster that can be hung in the classroom.
