Sounds of Summer Concert Series / July 27, 7 p.m.

This week’s concert will take you on a ride thorough an amazing musical experience, featuring the talented bands Liz Wojtal & Next of Kin and Just Friends.

This free summer concert series takes place weekly through Aug. 19.

The Sounds of Summer Concert Series is sponsored by Borough President Vito Fossella and Councilmembers David Carr, Joseph Borelli and Kamillah Hanks.

Grand Opening of Staten Island Mode: Identity, Memory, Fashion / July 29, 2 to 5 p.m.

Be the first to experience Staten Island Mode: Identity, Memory, Fashion, a contemporary fashion exhibition on Staten Island that is a community-driven exploration of what people wear and why, in relation to personal and local identity.

Saturday’s grand opening event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m., at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, located in Building C at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, Livingston. Snag your opening day tickets via the Snug Harbor website.

The exhibition will be on view through Dec. 31.

Carnegie Hall Citywide: Empire Wild / July 29, 5 to 6 p.m.

Bring your own chair and enjoy a free open-air performance with the Empire Wild: a genre-bending, crossover trio featuring classically trained musicians as a vehicle for their shared love of musical exploration -- fusing the sounds of pop, folk, Broadway and more into their songwriting and composition.

Carnegie Hall is partnering with local community organizations to present free concerts that are sensational celebrations of sounds from across the country and around the globe

ALLEGIANCE 5 / July 29, 6 p.m.

Additionally, talented performers are prepared to electrify the stage.

Staten Island Anti-Gun Violence Rally / July 30, 10 a.m.

Join Project Restore Bedstuy and uplift the voices of young people to raise awareness of community violence and its impact on Staten Island.
